in fragments from the shattered toe
4 November 2017
This bonfire weekend, Merike Estna invites Charismatic Megafauna to perform within her installation ‘fragments from the shattered toe’ at Kunstraum, London.
Charismatic Megafauna is a three-piece, feminist, party punk band born from a need to rage and dance. They use drums, synth drums, drum pads and voices in their performances and use the breakdown of words and the buildup of rhythms to make worlds. Hit songs like Guys in Spandex, Ejaculate, Theresa May Not and Hole have been shouted in places like fields, studios, bars, warehouses, museums, and basements since 2014.
Merike Estna’s solo-exhibition at Kunstraum incorporates an intricately painted stage/floor painting which, over the course of the exhibition, hosted a series of performance events including Lina Lapelytė (as part of Kunstraum Five Years Party), Performances For Pets (Krõõt Juurak & Alex Bailey) and Maria Metsalu.
