Characters of Control’ desires to make a vocabulary of movements and interactions around an overlapping network of characters of intimacy, desire and control. MY TEDDY COMFORTS ME. Presented as a series of performances, related video and costume/wearable sculpture. Each iteration of the performance looks at (LOOKING) another aspect within this expanding vocabulary. (VOCAB). SOOTHES ME. This edition of the performance presented at Kunstraum (CHARACTERS OF CONTROL KUNSTRAUM AKA CoCK) will be the 3rd iteration and introduces the transitional object as a way to further play with the subject and the interaction between performer, viewer and camera. IS MY NEW FRIEND. Drawing on fetishes such as Furries and Plushies as inspiration. MY TEDDY PROTECTS ME. Characters of Control can allow for experiencing different types of play (PLAYTIME!) and will take turns to play with the dichotomies between dominant and submissive, predator and prey, carer and cared for and states of invocation and exorcism (PAIN-PLEASURE WOO). REASSURES ME AND GIVES ME SATISFACTION!
